A fight for re-election

Bhupinder Singh Hooda is the de-facto Chief Ministerial face for the Congress, having led the State before BJP's Manohar Lal Khattar took over in 2014. Hooda is also the Leader of Opposition in the Haryana Legislative Assembly. He is contesting for his re-election from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi. The seat has been his priced bastion.

Hooda had won this seat in 2014 with 80,693 votes. The Jat-dominated seat with over two lakh voters has 13 candidates in the fray. BJP has fielded Satish Nandal, a former Indian National Lok Dal leader, to challenge Hooda. Nandal was twice defeated by Hooda in the last two Assembly polls. Krishan Kaushik is the INLD candidate for Garhi Sampla-Kiloi constituency.
