Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Unveils Sacred Somnath Jyotirlinga Relics in Bihar, Receives Grand Welcome

New Delhi: Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was welcomed by a massive gathering of devotees as he unveiled the sacred Somnath Jyotirlinga relics in Purnia on Tuesday. The historic event, attended by over one lakh people, marked a moment of deep spiritual significance. 

During the grand satsang, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar spoke about Bihar ’s youth and their role in building a progressive and peaceful society.  

Earlier in Patna, he addressed over 600 bureaucrats, entrepreneurs, and academicians, discussing leadership, stress-free living, and spirituality’s relevance in modern governance and business.  

Massive Gatherings Across Bihar

On March 9, 2025, Gurudev continued his tour across Sirsi, Khagaria, and Bhagalpur, where thousands gathered to participate in spiritual sessions. In Bhagalpur, the Ujjwal Bihar Mahasatsang, organized by The Art of Living and Samay Samajik Sanstha, saw over 60,000 devotees meditating with him.  

Former Union Minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, who attended the event, praised Gurudev as a global symbol of peace and universal brotherhood.  

Gurudev’s Visit to Bodh Gaya and Munger

In the final leg of his Bihar tour, Gurudev visited Munger and Bodh Gaya, where thousands gathered to witness the sacred Somnath relics.  

At Bodh Gaya, the Chamber of Commerce honored Gurudev with the Vishwaguru Shodh Samman for his contributions to spiritual wisdom. Additionally, Magadh University and four other institutions signed an MoU with The Art of Living to promote stress-free and positive campus environments.  

The unveiling of the Somnath Jyotirlinga relics in Bihar is the first time these ancient relics have been brought to the region in nearly a thousand years.
