Chaat is an exceptionally popular savoury snack food item devoured by people across India. It is readily available in loads of varieties in almost every other street or restaurant. It is mainly consumed as a street food item in the country which is also cost-effective generally. Take a look at some three healthy chaat recipes, which you can make at home.

Healthy chaat recipes to make at home

Sprouts Chaat: Mung bean sprouts have a high amount of nutritional value attached to them. They are a rich source of protein, magnesium, phosphorus and vitamin C. Sprouts is the hero of this dish, and it is combined with an array of veggies and seasoning to give that yum savoury flavour. Without further ado, let's start with the recipe. You will need one big cup of semi-boiled mung sprouts. Now add 200 grams of chopped onions, cucumber, and tomatoes to the bowl of mung sprouts. Add about one teaspoon of red chilly powder, half teaspoon of cumin powder and pinch a pinch of salt to the bowl. Now add one big tablespoon of chaat masala and a dash of lemon to your chaat. Mix all the ingredients well, and your super healthy and tasty sprouts chaat is ready to be served.

Bhelpuri: It is a famous snacking option in Maharashtra primarily. Bhel is dried puffed rice. People like eating bhelpuri either during the evening snack time or before consuming a proper meal. It is low on carbohydrates and can be eaten without any fear of instant weight gain. The recipe of bhelpuri is very simple, and it's super easy to make. You need about 200 grams of puffed rice(bhel) in a glass bowl. Add a handful of chopped onions, green chillies, and sev to it. Mix all the ingredients well and add tamarind chutney and green mint chutney to it, about a one-to-two tablespoon.  Add a dash of lemon, pinch of salt, and one tablespoon of chaat masala to your bhelpuri and mix well. Your bhelpuri is ready. You can also top it up with a few pieces of aloo bhujiya sev.

Chickpeas Chaat: Chickpeas is Kala chana, which needs to be boiled before making the chaat. It is a high source of fibre and protein. To prepare this chaat, we need to combine chopped vegetables, a few spices, and boiled chickpeas in a big glass bowl. Now add one tablespoon of tamarind chutney to it. After that add 200 grams of chopped onions, roughly diced cucumber, and tomatoes in the glass bowl. Now add about one teaspoon of red chilly powder, half teaspoon of cumin powder and a pinch of salt. Add one big tablespoon of chaat masala and a dash of lemon to your chaat. Mix all the ingredients well and your healthy chickpeas chaat is ready.
