LeBron James is widely regarded as one of the best players to ever play in the NBA. The 34-year-old has achieved almost everything in the league and is unsurprisingly one of the highest-paid athletes in the world. In fact, according to Forbes, James is the 8th highest-paid athlete in the world ahead of the likes of Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. James is also well known for his entrepreneurial ventures and his mega endorsements with the likes of Nike.

LeBron James agreed to a four-year contract worth $154 million with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018. While this is a huge amount of money, it’s only a portion of his total income.

LeBron Endorsements and Ventures

According to experts, about 65% of James’ income is from endorsements. A large part of James’ income comes from his deal with Nike to produce the LeBron’s signature sneakers. The highly anticipated shoes, like most athlete-endorsed sneakers, sell like anything for Nike. James reportedly takes home a reported $32 million annually from the sneakers. At the end of 2015, James signed a lifetime deal with Nike worth over a billion dollars. According to James’ business partner, Maverick Carter, it’s the largest deal in Nike history.

LeBron James contributed heavily to Blaze Pizza when it was just a new business. Now it’s the second-fastest-growing pizza chain in the US and James owns a large portion of shares, now worth over $35 million.

He has stakes in Beats Electronics and also in English club Liverpool FC.

Lebron James started his NBA career with Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003 before moving to Miami Heat in 2010. He returned to the Cavaliers for a second stint in 2014 before finally joining Los Angeles Lakers in 2018. He is a three-time NBA champion, three-time NBA Finals MVP, four-time NBA MVP and a 15-time NBA All-Star. This season he etched his name in the Lakers' history books when he became the first player to record four triple-doubles in his first 10 games. And although his stint with the Lakers hasn't been a success so far, he sure has the ability to lead his side to glory.
