The ongoing experiments and permutation combinations haven't paid any dividends so far.
3 things you need to know

- The Gujarat Titans skipper could only muster 77 runs in the series
- India lost the five match T20I series 3-2
Hardik Pandya failed to lead India to a victory in the T20I series
Hardik Pandya's not so fancy form could be a cause of concern for India in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup. The Gujarat Titans skipper is India's go-to leader in the shortest format and will also play a pivotal role in India's upcoming ICC World Cup campaign.
The host will kick off their World Cup campaign against Australia at Chepauk Stadium and any mishap would only complicate their situation. India last claimed their ICC trophy back in 2013 and the onus will be on them to lay their hands on the trophy.
Wasim Jaffer raised concerns over Hardik Pandya's form
Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer while speaking on ESPNcricinfo raised questions over Pandya's form as he felt Pandya wasn't at his best during the recent series against West Indies.
"Well, it has been a concern. He looks little rusty. We can't say that the free-flowing Hardik Pandya who comes in and strikes it sweetly. Doesn't mean hitting sixes but striking it nicely, rotating the strike. Apart from the fifty he scored in the 3rd ODI, where also he started very very slowly, and picked it up in the slog overs. But even then he looked a little rusty.

"That's a concern for me. Looking at how Hardik Pandya batted in the series, that was a big concern. Not everytime he is going to start slowly, and he is going to finish strongly. We could see this during this series as well. As soon as he comes, the momentum drops down, the strike-rate comes down and puts the pressure on the other guys and the dug out as well. Something for him to worry, take note and improve.", Jaffer concluded. India will now face Ireland in a three match T20I series starting from 18th August.
