North Carolina awaits presidential outcome

The fate of the United States presidency hung in the balance Wednesday morning, as President Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden battled for votes in several key states where the count continued.

It was unclear when or how quickly a winner could be determined. In Charlotte, some streets had cones and barricades on them and some businesses were boarded up.
