First electric from BMW Motorrad: BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeler division of BMW, launched the CE-02 at Rs 4.50 lakh (ex-showroom) in India today. This is the fourth product from BMW Motorrad that is being manufactured in India. The company is calling the BMW CE-02 an E-Parkourer, as it is neither an electric scooter nor an electric motorcycle. This EV is available in two variants and has a claimed range of 108km on a single charge. We had a very short spin organised by BMW Motorrad in Delhi NCR, and here’s what we think about this EV.

BMW CE 02 Electric drive report:

BMW Motorrad organised a short rider to get the experience of the CE 02 EV. On our short spin, we were able to highlight some key aspects of the vehicle. Here is our experience:

The 785mm seat height is comfortable for taller passengers and the seat width is also decently comfortable. Our experience on the rides was comfortable while commuting in the city. The front-set footpegs offered a relaxed riding posture and for aggressiveness, the rear-set footpegs are there.

During our experience ride, the performance from each riding mode was evident. However, regenerative braking worked the best while using the Flash riding mode. For the unversed, regenerative braking helps in minimising the use of brakes, which, in turn, helps in ensure a longer life of the disc pads.

On taking the vehicle in the potholes and bad road conditions, the suspension felt to be tuned on the softer side, and during our test ride, it provided decent comfort. Since it has soft suspension tuning, the small bits and potholes were evident on the handlebar and seats. This tuning of softer suspension setup helped in easy maneuverability and the 142 kg weight of the scooter didn’t felt heavy.

Conclusion:

The BMW CE 02 comes with a stylish design, a decent range, and modern features. It offers a comfortable ride for your daily commutes in the city and for additional features, the Highline package offers additional riding modes, exterior graphics, and accessories. It is a practical, comfortable offering from the BMW Motorrad in the country.
