Maruti Ertiga to Mahindra Scorpio N: Top 5 cars sold in September 2024
The passenger vehicle segment recorded a decline in sales in September 2024. The first position was secured by Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, followed by Swift.

Top 5 cars in September: The passenger vehicle segment recorded a decline in sales in September 2024. Despite a decline recorded in sales, there was a shift in the position of the top sales recorded by cars in September. As per the data from SIAM, there was a major shift in the top positions recorded in the previous month. In September, the first position was secured by Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which followed by Swift. Interestingly seven out of the top ten positions were secured by cars from Maruti Suzuki .

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
The first place on the sales chart was secured by Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. It recorded total sales of 17,441 units in September. With these sales, it recorded a surge of 3,913 units as compared to the same month the previous year, registering a growth of 28.93 per cent on a year-on-year basis. It recorded a decline as well and fell short of 1,139 units as compared to August. It registered a decline of 6.13 per cent on a month-on-month basis.
Maruti Suzuki Swift
The second position on the sales chart was secured by Swift. It recorded total sales of 16,241 units and registered a surge of 1,538 units as compared to the same month the previous year. Swift recorded a surge of 10.46 per cent on a year-on-year basis. It also recoded a surge of 3,397 units as compared to August, registering a growth of 26.45 per cent on a month-on-month basis.
Hyundai Creta
The third position on the sales chart was secured by Hyundai Creta. It is a compact SUV and recorded total sales of 15,902 units. It registered a growth of 3,185 units in September 2024 and recorded 25.05 per cent growth on a year-on-year basis. Creta fell short of 860 units as compared to August and registered a decline of 5.13 per cent on a month-on-month basis.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza
The fourth position on the list was secured by Maruti’s Brezza. It recorded total sales of 15,322 units, having a surge of 321 units as compared to the same month in the previous year. This resulted in a growth of a mere 2.14 per cent on a year-on-year basis. Despite the growth, Brezza recorded a decline of 20.16 per cent as it fell short of 3,868 units as compared to August.
Mahindra Scorpio N
The fifth position on the list was secured by Mahindra’s Scorpio N. It recorded total sales of 14,438 units, registering a surge of 2,592 units, witnessing a 21.88 per cent growth on a year-on-year basis. It recorded a surge of 651 units as compared to August, registering a growth of 4.72 per cent on a month-on-month basis.
