MG Comet EV available at Rs 5 Lakh, ZS EV available at 14 Lakh with battery rental

MG Motors introduced its battery-as-a-service program in the Comet EV and ZS EV which are available at Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 13.99 lakh respectively.

New battery rent on EVs: JSW MG Motors India has introduced their battery-as-a-service program to its other two EVs, Comet EV and ZS EV in India. The company first introduced this initiative in their Windsor EV. It helps customers purchase vehicles at a lower upfront cost and pay for battery usage separately based on the kilometres driven.

Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer, JSW MG Motor India, said, “With BaaS, we have created a platform for easy ownership, making our EVs more accessible than ever. Given the strong response to Windsor under the BaaS program, we are now extending its benefits to our popular EV models, the Comet and ZS. I am confident that this unique ownership model will further boost EV adoption in the country.”

MG Comet EV now available at Rs 5 lakh:

The MG Comet EV is now available at Rs 4.99 lakh with a battery rental cost of Rs 2.5 per kilometre. Comet EV is one of the most affordable EVs in the country available in the market. The Battery-as-a-Service (B-a-a-S) program offers services such as a 60 per cent assured buyback value after three years, pay per kilometre. This program also offers a lower acquisition cost of an electric vehicle. The MG Comet EV is equipped with a 17.3 kWh battery pack, which has a claimed range of 230 km on a single charge and a fast charging option.

 

MG ZS EV now available at Rs 13.99 lakh:

The MG ZS EV is now available at Rs 13.99 and has a battery rental cost of Rs 4.5 per kilometre. The ZS EV mainly rivals the Tata Nexon EV, and Mahindra XUV 400 EV in its segment. The ZS EV is equipped with a 50.3 kWh battery pack, which has a claimed range of 461 km on a single charge and it comes with safety features such as Level-2 ADAS, six airbags, and ABS with EBD among others.
