Skoda has recently launched the Kylaq in India in the sub-4m compact SUV segment, which already consists of popular SUVs such as Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and more. Tata Nexon is a worthy contender in the competition and is offered in multiple powertrain and gearbox options. Skoda Kylaq vs Tata Nexon: Price and Variants

Skoda launched the Kylaq for Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The prices of the other variants will be rolled out on December 2, 2024. The price of the Tata Nexon starts at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in multiple variants for petrol, diesel, and CNG options.

Skoda Kylaq vs Tata Nexon: Exterior Design

The exterior design of the Skoda Kylaq and the Tata Nexon are inspired by their elder siblings. The Skoda Kylaq and the Tata Nexon, both offer a split headlight setup, but the Tata Nexon has sleeker LED DRLs, and both the SUVs offer LED headlight setup.

The Kylaq runs on 17-inch alloy wheels and on the other hand, Nexon is offered with 16-inch alloy wheels. The Tata Nexon has more width, but the Kylaq has a longer wheelbase.

At the rear, the Skoda Kylaq gets separate LED taillamps, with the Skoda badge connecting it. On the other end, Tata offers connected LED taillamps with welcome and goodbye functions.

The interiors of the Skoda Kylaq and the Tata Nexon are quite different. The Kylaq offers a simplistic layout of the dashboard with dual-tone treatment. Tata Nexon on the other hand offers a wide dashboard, with touch controls. Both the SUVs offer two-spoke steering wheels but Tata offers a backlit steering wheel whereas Skoda has a knurled finish for premium appeal.

Both the SUVs, that is, Tata Nexon and the Skoda Kylaq, offer wide seats and since the Kylaq has a longer wheelbase, the space at the rear is slightly better.

The feature list on the Tata Nexon and the Skoda Kylaq is long. Tata Nexon offers driving modes, front-ventilated seats, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system to name a few. The feature list on the Skoda Kylaq consists of front-ventilated seats, touchscreen infotainment, and a wireless charger.For keeping cups inside Tata Nexon, there are no cupholders present on the dashboard whereas, Skoda Kylaq offers cupholders in the cabin.

Skoda Kylaq vs Tata Nexon: Engine Specifications

The Skoda Kylaq is offered with a single engine option, whereas the Tata Nexon is offered with a petrol, a diesel, and a CNG option as well. The Skoda Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI inline three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which churns out 115 BHP and 178 Nm torque, mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Tata Nexon is powered by a 1.2-litre inline three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which churns out 120 BHP and 171 Nm torque, mated to a six-speed manual or an AMT transmission.
