Suzuki recalls 1,056 units of Hayabusa in India over faulty brake issue

Suzuki Motorcycles has issued a voluntary recall of 1,056 units of the third generation of the sports bike Hayabusa in India over a potential front brake issue.

Suzuki Hayabusa recalled: Suzuki Motorcycles has issued a voluntary recall of 1,056 units of third generation of popular sports bike Hayabusa in India over a potential front brake issue. Hayabusa is a popular superbike on sale in India and third generation of Hayabusa was launched in 2021.

What is issue?

issue is listed as “ front brake lever play increases, in worst case, lever contacts with throttle grip, and braking distance increases.” A total of 1,056 units have been affected by issue.

It appears that front brake levers can get excessive play, to point that lever comes in contact with throttle, which can le to a dangerous situation. braking system has always been an issue with earlier generations of Hayabusa. But with launch of third generation Hayabusa in 2021, brake issues were resolved by providing Brembo Stylema calipers and 10mm larger discs.

Republic Auto reached out to company about what would be necessary repairs but it refused to comment.
