Vehicle Retail Sales Surge 11.76% YoY In 42 Days of Festive Period: FADA

Sales in Festive Season: Vehicle sales in festive period witnessed a surge in demand and registered growth across major segments. passenger vehicle segment. two-wheeler and three-wheeler segment and commercial vehicle segment registered a surge in demand whereas tractor segment recorded a decline. According to data released by Federation of Automotive Dealers Association, (FA), total vehicle retail sales across segments in period of 42 days were recorded at 42,88,248 units and witnessed a surge of 11.76 per cent on a year-on-year basis. 42-day festive period is from 1st day of Navratri to 15 days post-Dhanteras.

“I am delighted to announce that automobile retail sector has achieved a new milestone, surpassing last year's festive records. We witnessed a remarkable surge in numbers since beginning of Navratri, nearly hitting our forecasted target with 42.88 lakh vehicles registered during this period—a growth of 11.76% over last year's 38.37 lakh units,” said, Mr C S Vigneshwar, FA President. 

Let us look at retail sales of vehicles across different segments in festive period:

Passenger Vehicle Segment:

passenger vehicle segment recorded total retail sales of 6,03,009 units in 42 days of festive period. segment registered a surge of 7.10 per cent on a year-on-year basis. re was a growth of 39,950 units as compared to festive period of 2023.

Commercial Vehicle Segment:

commercial vehicle segment recorded total retail sales of 1,28,738 units in 42 days of festive period. segment saw a growth of 1.02 per cent on a year-on-year basis. re was a growth of 1,302 units as compared to festive period of 2023.

Two-wheeler Segment:

two-wheeler segment registered total retail sales of 33,11,325 units in 42 days of festive period. two-wheeler segment saw a growth of 13.79 per cent on a year-on-year basis. re was a growth of 4,01,184 units as compared to festive period of 2023.

Three-wheeler Segment:

three-wheeler segment saw total retail sales of 1,59,960 units in 42 days of festive period. three-wheeler segment registered a growth of 6.81 per cent on a year-on-year basis. re was a growth of 10,196 units as compared to festive period of 2023.

Tractor Segment:

tractor segment registered total retail sales of 85,216 units in 42 days of festive period. tractor segment saw a decline of 1.64 per cent on a year-on-year basis. re was a decline of 1,424 units as compared to festive period of 2023.
