ATF prices increased by 2%, commercial LPG by Rs 6.5 per cylinder

The price of aviation turbine fuel was raised by Rs 1,827.34 per kilolitre (1.9 per cent) to Rs 97,975.72 per kilolitre in the national capital.

Jet fuel (ATF) prices were increased by 2 per cent on Thursday, alongside a rise in the cost of commercial LPG cylinders used by hotels and restaurants, reflecting the latest trends in international oil prices.

According to a notification from state-owned fuel retailers, the price of aviation turbine fuel was raised by Rs 1,827.34 per kilolitre (1.9 per cent) to Rs 97,975.72 per kilolitre in the national capital. This marks the second consecutive monthly increase in ATF rates, following a 1.2 per cent (Rs 1,179.37 per kilolitre) hike on July 1. Before that, ATF prices had seen a significant 6.5 per cent reduction (Rs 6,673.87 per kilolitre) on June 1.

In Mumbai, the ATF price was raised to Rs 91,650.34 per kilolitre from the previous Rs 89,908.31. The prices vary across states due to local tax differences.

In addition, the price of commercial LPG cylinders was increased by Rs 6.5, bringing the cost to Rs 1,652.50 per 19-kg cylinder. This follows four consecutive monthly reductions, the last being a Rs 30 cut per cylinder on July 1, totalling a reduction of Rs 148 over the four months.

The current rates for commercial LPG are Rs 1,605 per 19-kg cylinder in Mumbai, Rs 1,764.50 in Kolkata, and Rs 1,817 in Chennai. However, the price of domestic cooking gas remains unchanged at Rs 803 per 14.2-kg cylinder.

State-owned companies like Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) adjust the prices of ATF and cooking gas on the first day of each month, based on international benchmark fuel prices and exchange rates.

The prices of petrol and diesel remain unchanged, with petrol at Rs 94.72 per litre and diesel at Rs 87.62 per litre in Delhi. The last price cut of Rs 2 per litre occurred in mid-March.
