Expansion Plans: ARC Electric, an electric cab services provider, plans to add 5,000 Electric Vehicles (EVs) in the upcoming 18 months, a significant expansion from its present fleet of 1,000 plus cabs, a senior company executive informed.
Abhinav Kalia, CEO and Co-Founder of ARC Electric, said, "The company has already kickstarted its journey by deploying 400 cars in the following two to three months, releasing over 100 cars each month."
The phased deployment will commence from NCR and extend to metro-cities such as Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.
Currently, the company which caters exclusively to the B2B segment, has established its key corporate customer base in Hyderabad, Bangalore, and the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR).
On the EV charging infrastructure front, Kalia said,"Over the last five years, significant developments have been witnessed in the charging infrastructure, with big players continuously working to set up robust networks for EVs. The company is confident in the existing infrastructure and believes it can procure and provide a sufficient number of EVs to meet customer demands effectively."
Earlier, ARC Electric had also made its plans clear to solidify its current presence in the National Capital Region (NCR) with a fleet of over 2,500 new EVs.
On the other hand, ride-sharing firms catering to the general public such as BluSmart have also announced plans to increase its fleet strength by 10,000 units.
