Budget session to commence on Jan 31, President to chair joint sitting of both Houses

The first phase of the budget session of Parliament will conclude on Feb 11, while the second part of the session will begin from March 2 and end on April 3

Budget Session of Parliament starts on Friday with an dress by President Ram Nath Kovind to joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament. President's dress would commence at 11 am.  Union Budget will be presented on Saturday. first phase of session will conclude on February 11, while second part of session will begin from March 2 and end on April 3.

BJP executive committee meeting is said to be held in Parliament library at 2 pm, while National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting is expected in Parliament Library at 3:30 pm on Friday.

An all-party meeting called by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralh Joshi was held on Thursday in Parliament ahe of Budget Session. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended meeting along with or Union Ministers, namely, Rajnath Singh, Thawar Chand Gehlot, Arjun Meghwal, V Muraleedharan, and ors.

Samajwi Party MP Ram Gopal Yav was also present in meet. BJD's Prasanna Acharya, NCP MP Supriya Sule, Congress MP hir Ranjan Chowdhury, RJD leer Manoj Jha, and many or MPs were present in meeting.

Discussion on economic issues

Prime Minister asserted that government is open for discussion on all issues during Budget Session of Parliament and agreed with demand of MPs to hold discussions on economic issues.

"Most of members have asked for discussion on economic situation concerning country. I welcome this and we need to discuss economic issues as suggested by you all," he said. 

Prime Minister urged members to have discussions on how Indian economy can gain from current global scenario. "We should focus on how we can turn global scenario in favour of India. And in this Budget Session, and in beginning of New Year if we can give a proper direction to country's economy, it would be in best interest of country," he said.
