Comparing Ola's S1X, S1X+, and S1 AIR electric scooters; features and specifications

Ola introduced its latest line of electric scooters, the Ola S1X series, on August 15. This range is the company's most budget-friendly option yet, with a starting price of Rs 89,999 for the Ola S1X (2 kWh) model.

Pricing and range 

The Ola S1X, Ola S1X+, and Ola S1 AIR are three electric scooter models offered by Ola at different prices. The Ola S1X is priced at Rs 79,999, the Ola S1X+ at Rs 99,999, and the Ola S1 AIR at Rs 1,19,999. All three models have an ARAI range (under ideal conditions) of 151 km and a top speed of 90 km/h.

In terms of acceleration from 0 to 60 km/h, the Ola S1X and S1X+ both offer a swift 5.5 seconds, while the Ola S1 AIR takes a slightly longer 5.7 seconds. All three models are equipped with a 3 kWh battery and come with charging capabilities. The charging time varies, with the Ola S1X and S1X+ requiring 7.4 hours, while the Ola S1 AIR can be charged in 5 hours.

The instrument clusters also differ among the models. The Ola S1X features a 3.5-inch LCD display, the S1X+ is equipped with a larger 5-inch LCD display, and the Ola S1 AIR boasts a 7-inch 800x480p touch LCD display. The Ola S1X+ and S1 AIR models also come with MoveOS features such as cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation, and OTA updates, while the Ola S1X lacks these advanced features.

All three models share the same peak motor power of 6.0 kW and offer multiple drive modes, including Eco, Normal, and Sports. The key type varies, with the Ola S1X using a physical key while the S1X+ and S1 AIR models use keyless systems. In terms of storage, each model provides 34 litres of boot space.

When it comes to range in different modes, the Ola S1X and S1X+ offer 125 km in Eco mode and 100 km in Normal mode, while the Ola S1 AIR provides the same range. All three models share a kerb weight of 108 kg and are equipped with 90/90-R12 tyres for smooth rides.
