HP appoints senior Apple official Ipsita Dasgupta to head India business

Dasgupta officially joined HP on October 30 and will report directly to HP's Chief Commercial Officer, David McQuarrie.

HP has appointed Ipsita Dasgupta, a former senior Apple executive, as its new Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the Indian market. In her new role, Dasgupta will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HP's strategy and profit and loss operations in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Her background includes serving as the Senior Director of Marketing for Apple Services, where she led global marketing efforts, external partnerships, consumer insights, and competitive intelligence for Apple's subscription services.

India is a crucial growth market for HP, and her appointment is seen as a strategic move to continue driving the company's success in the region. With her extensive international experience spanning 24 years and expertise in various industries, HP expresses confidence in her ability to lead the company in its next growth phase.

Dasgupta's academic background includes a bachelor's degree in mathematics and economics from Columbia University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Her appointment reflects HP's commitment to strengthening its position in the Indian market and leveraging the leadership experience she brings from her time at Apple.
