Industry-academia tie-up between TeamLease EdTech, IIT Patna & NSDC, to make grads job-ready

TeamLease EdTech has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Patna and the National Skill Development Corporation, part of the Finance Ministry for accelerating learning programs that boost employability, the company said Wednesday.

As part of the collaboration signed late Tuesday, aspirants can avail the Work-linked Hybrid Degree Programs to acquire an IIT Degree along with an experience certificate from the employer.
The enrolment for these programs shall start in January 2024.

Shantanu Rooj, the CEO and Founder of TeamLease EdTech, said, “Through our collaboration with IIT Patna and NSDC, we are all set to launch these transformative programs that will make higher education in India more employable and purposeful”.

The integrated technology program, which can also be accessed online, is based on the principles of learning by doing, learning while earning and learning with flexibility, the program blends online and application-based learning and also offers credit mobility, an official release stated.

Prof TN Singh, Director of IIT Patna, said: “ IIT Patna is taking several path-breaking initiatives to improve graduate employability in the country. Our partnership with TeamLease EdTech and NSDC will help us design, develop and deliver a new category of immersive hybrid programs that help provide the learners with high-quality academics and the necessary work-experience.”

Empowering the dual degree initiative of the National Education Policy, the program also allows currently graduating students to enroll in these programs to earn their Dual Degrees.

Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC said this new category of work-embedded programs shall go a long way in improving the employability of the youth of the country by bringing IIT brand excellence to workplaces.

The program enables employer signalling, wherein enrolled students can show their adaptability to the workforce with enhanced learning outcomes.
