US chipmaker Nvidia and its employees have raised $15 million in donations for non-profit organisations assisting civilians impacted by the Israel-Hamas conflict. The fundraising initiative, spearheaded by thousands of employees from over 30 countries, garnered a notable $5 million, which Nvidia then matched and doubled to a total of $10 million.

This act of philanthropy represents the largest humanitarian fundraising effort in Nvidia's 30-year history. The company stressed that the contributions are not exclusively directed to Israeli non-profits.

Gideon Rosenberg, Nvidia's deputy general counsel, expressed pride in the widespread support from Nvidia families globally and gratitude for their collective prayers and hope for the safe return of colleague Avinatan Or and other hostages held by Hamas. Or, a 30-year-old engineer at Nvidia since April 2022, was captured at the Nova music festival on October 7, along with his girlfriend Noa Argamani and approximately 240 others.

The company disclosed that employees chose to allocate their donations to various organisations in the region, including Asor Fund (JGive), American Friends of Magen David Adom, Doctors Without Borders, Friends of United Hatzalah, IsraAID (US) Global Humanitarian Assistance, Jewish Agency for Israel, World Central Kitchen, and Zaka.
