Supreme Court Reserves Judgment in Patanjali's Misleading Advertisement Case

SC on Patanjali Case: Supreme Court reserved judgment against Patanjali Ayurved's promoter, yoga guru Ramdev, and managing director (MD) Balakrishna in a case concerning misleing vertisements of drugs me by company. court granted m three weeks to file an affidavit regarding steps taken to recall vertisements for medicines for which license has been revoked, exempting m from personal appearance for now.
Supreme Court also questioned president of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Dr. Asokan, for giving an interview to press on court's orders in case. court observed that Dr Asokan's actions mirrored those of Patanjali and expressed concern about example set for association's 3.5 lakh doctors.

Earlier, Patanjali's lawyers informed court that company published 322 apologies in newspapers over vertisements that me false claims about its products. court acknowledged a marked improvement in management's attitude and appreciated apologies carrying names of Ramdev and Balakrishna.
