Amid national lockdown, only special trains have been operating. se trains have been running to help people reach ir hometowns or workplace under special causes. se special trains have been running from May 12th 2020 in 15 pairs.
special trains are special air-conditioned train services. Recently, in addition to se trains, Ministry of Railway had also anunced ir plan to run 200 n-AC trains from June 1st. However, ministry has revised certain ticket booking rules of 15 pairs of Special AC trains.

New rules for ticket booking, RAC, waitlisting, reservation period rules

advanced reservation period of Special AC trains has been increased to up to 30 days.

However, re will be Tatkal booking facility available for Special AC trains.

For special trains, RAC or waiting list train tickets will be given as per present instructions applicable.

As per current instructions, waitlisted passengers would t be able to board se special AC trains.

first chart will be generated at four hours before scheduled departure of train. Earlier, re was a practice of releasing it chart 30 minutes earlier than scheduled departure.

Moreover, tickets for special trains will be made available through computerised PRS counters.

tickets can be booked through computerized PRS counters including Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendra licensees, Post Offices, etc.

Besides that, ticket booking will also be available through online mode and authorised nts of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Moreover, tickets can be booked at Common Service Centres.
