IAF to develop indigenous jammer pod for LCA Mark 1A fighter jet

The locally developed LCA MK1A is an enhanced version of the LCA MK1. It has been improved and has more features, like a self-protection jammer.

IAF officials stated on Saturday that Indian Air Force is developing a project to create a domestic jammer pod for indigenous LCA Mark 1A fighter jet.

"IAF's Base Repair Depots have been tasked to indigenise many of equipment required on its fighter and transport aircraft and or weapon systems and cut down imports," officials said.

Colonel Vikram, Vice President of Solar Group Economic Explosives Limited, stated that, aside from ordinance factories, multimode hand grene is first product that a private industry has produced locally and supplied to Indian Army.

"We have alrey manufactured a quantity of 10 lakh and handed it over to Indian Army successfully. This is a very safe proto and vanced proto of a hand grene. It has ded safety features as well and its efficacies are much more than erstwhile HE 36 hand grene.” he said.

"It is very well received by Indian Army and we are expecting next order soon," he ded.
