DRDO Set To Test Fire Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile With Over 1000 Km Strike Range

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is all set to test fire a new long-range anti-ship ballistic missile capable of targeting moving warships or aircraft carriers from a distance of over 1,000 km in sea. Reportedly, DRDO is expected to test ballistic missile in next few days. This move aims to create India's rocket force furr bolstering country's defence. 

A defence source told news ncy ANI, saying that ballistic missile is expected to be tested in next few days by Defence Research and Development Organisation. anti-ship ballistic missile would be capable of being launched from both warships and shore-based locations, sources said.

missile system is being developed for Indian Navy and would give it capability to take out enemy vessels from a long range, sources said.

Indian forces have been increasing number of ballistic missiles in ir inventory with Pralay ballistic missiles being ordered by both Indian Army and Indian Air Force.

numbers are going to be grually increased with induction of short and medium-range missiles in three services which would give m capability to sustain long-term conflicts.

In recent times, re has been a large-scale use of ballistic missiles in conflicts where even n-state actors have been seen firing hundreds of ballistic missiles on enemy locations in just one night.

Indian forces have been in conflict with China in rrn borders which has a huge rocket force and which has a huge inventory of such long-range weapons in conventional or n-nuclear roles.

Indian forces have held detailed discussions on need for creation of such an organisation with a large size inventory to meet all security challenges.
