Kashmir, India: After 2020 Galwan clashes in eastern Lakh, which tragically claimed lives of 20 Indian soldiers, Army's focus shifted significantly, redeploying a large contingent from Jammu to Line of Actual Control (LAC). "Hostile elements in neighborhood aim to eng and deplete our resources on both fronts—western (Pakistan) and rrn (China) borders—as part of a calculated strategy," a senior security official remarked. With heightened vigilance in Kashmir Valley and limited opportunities for state-sponsored terrorists, relatively lower security posture in Jammu has me it a prime target for terror activities.

Evolving Terrorist Tactics and Modus Operandi

Resistance Front (TRF) and People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) are increasingly being recognized as front organizations for groups like Jaish-e-Mohamm (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). PAFF, active since 2019 alongside TRF, is widely believed to have emerged in response to abrogation of Article 370 and to counter mounting international pressure on Pakistan to curb its terror sponsorship amid warnings from Financial Action Task Force (FATF). tably, PAFF only ackwledges local casualties on social media, deliberately omitting deaths of Pakistani operatives from ir narratives.

PAFF’s modus operandi typically involves small squs, usually consisting of up to four members, with each squ having a designated sniper, an assault specialist, a cover fire provider, while one terrorist keeps a vigilant overwatch. se squs are torious for mutilating mortal remains of Indian security personnel and looting ir weapons and equipment.
