Board exams for Class 11, 12 to be conducted twice a year: MoE’s new curriculum framework

Board exams to be conducted twice a year, students will be allowed to retain the best score, the Ministry of Education said in its new curriculum framework.

Ministry of Education on Wednesday, in its new curriculum framework, has anunced that board exams will w be conducted at least two times a year and students will be allowed to retain ir best score. board exams are held for Class 11 and Class 12 students.

“Board exams to be conducted twice a year, students will be allowed to retain best score,” Ministry of Education said in its new curriculum framework.

In addition to this, several or changes have been made in new curriculum framework: 

  • Board exams to be conducted twice a year with students allowed to retain ir best score. 

  • Class 11 and 12 students will have to study two langus and at least one langu needs to be Indian. 

  • Choice of subjects will t be restricted to streams and students of class 11 and 12 will be allowed to choose subject of ir choice.

  • Board exams will assess understanding, achievement of competencies than months of coaching and memorisation. 

objective of this new curriculum framework (NCF) is to develop and transform school education system of India as envisioned in National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, through corresponding positive changes in curriculum including pedagogy.
