In a major update on Tuesday, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) anunced a revised Academic Curriculum for 2020-21 session which has been impacted by COVID-19 pandemic. Under revised curriculum, board has slashed 30 per cent of existing syllabus for classes 9-12.
Taking to Twitter, Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal anunced, "Considering importance of learning achievement, it has been decided to rationalize syllabus up to 30% by retaining core concepts."

Issuing a directive to heads of all institutions affiliated to CBSE, it highlighted that revision of syllabus is a measure taken due to extraordinary situation prevailing in country and across globe. board has also instructed institutions to explain topics slashed from syllabus to students to extent required to connect different topics. However, reduced syllabus will t be part of topics for internal assessment and year-end Board examination.

CBSE cancel exams
On a Higher Secondary level, CBSE board cancelled its remaining Class X and XII board examinations in light of rising number of COVID cases across country. results were anunced based on internal assessment. board has provided Class XII students with option of sitting for exam at a later date, however, results declared for class X students is final.
UGC issues guidelines for final year exams
In response to MHA allowing university exams, Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal tweeted that final year exams which were to be evaluated by July will w be conducted in September. This came after Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Monday, permitted universities to conduct examinations during Unlock period, as per PIB. Moreover, MHA wrote to Union Higher Education Secretary, highlighting that final Term Examinations are to be compulsorily conducted as per UGC guidelines and as per SOP approved by Health Ministry. Several state universities have cancelled final year exams or expressed ir inability to conduct exams amid COVID-19 crisis.
