Police has detained eight students and professors who were protesting outside Delhi University’s Arts Faculty premise on Monday, June 22, 2020. According to reports, y were against varsity ministration’s decision to conduct online open-book exams. police took m to Maurice Nagar station and released m after some time.

As per reports, a group of around ten protestors h gared around Arts Faculty. y were carrying placards that re, 'Say to Online Exams and DU Against OBE'. A senior police officer revealed about detaining protestors and releasing m later on. y went to Maurice Nagar police station in rth district.

According to reports, president of Left affiliated All India Students’ Association (AISA) Prasenjeet Kumar said that students and teachers h to sign an undertaking before y were released. It was for m to t violate prohibitory orders, which government has imposed in city under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC).
Delhi University's open book exams
Delhi University decided to conduct open-book exam for final year students amid COVID-19 pandemic using online mode. However, students and teachers have been opposing move citing a lack of internet connectivity in different regions, among or problems.

For new batches, online registration for Delhi University mission for undergruate, postgruate and PhD courses started on June 20, 2020, Saturday. On that day, students faced some technical glitches while registering for mission purposes. Later on, everything went smoothly.

According to reports, varsity received over a lakh registration after mission portal opened. A report suggested that data from university at 7: 30 pm on Monday showed that it has got 94,536 registrations. Moreover, it also revealed that DU h received 31,715 forms for postgruate courses and 3865 for PhD on Monday evening.

varsity has also gotten payment for 22,355 registration forms. payment option comes after registration process is complete following form filling with class 12th marks. However, CBSE and ISC board examination results are t out yet. So, application that Delhi University has received are from or states where class 12th board results are out.
