CAT 2024 Registration Begins on August 1; How To Apply, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern Here

New Delhi: online registrations for Common mission Test (CAT) 2024 will begin on August 1. Candidates who wish to appear for IIM CAT 2024 can apply through official website- iimcat.ac.in. Re on for full details on important dates, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, steps to apply for exam. 

computer-based test will be conducted on November 24, 2024, across three sessions. registrations will begin on August 1 and end on September 13.

CAT 2024: How To Apply

• Visit official website- iimcat.ac.in
• on 'Register' tab 
• Re instructions and fill out required details
• Candidate will n get ir user ID and password on ir registered email dress and mobile number 
• Log in using user ID and password 
• Fill out IIM CAT form 
• Pay application fee and submit.

CAT 2024 Important Dates:

- Registration Opens: August 01, 2024 (10:00 am)
- Registration Closes: September 13, 2024 (5:00 pm)
- mit Card Downlo: November 05 – November 24, 2024
- Test Date: November 24, 2024
- Result Declaration: Second week of January 2025 (Tentative)

CAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

• To be eligible to apply for CAT, students must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognised university.
• However, final-year students awaiting gruation are also eligible to apply.
• 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA is required for CAT enrollment.
• A minimum of 45% marks is required for students applying under SC/ST/PWD categories

CAT 2024 Registration Fees:

- ₹1250 for SC, ST, and PwD category candidates.
- ₹2500 for all or categories.

Candidates need to pay registration fee only once, regardless of number of institutes y are applying to. Fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.

CAT will be conducted in approximately 170 test cities. Candidates can select up to five preferred cities. list of test cities is subject to change at discretion of CAT authorities.

CAT 2024 Exam Details

Duration of Test: duration of test will be 120 minutes. test will have following three sections: 

Section I: Verbal Ability and Reing Comprehension 
Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
Section III: Quantitative Ability 
Candidates will be allotted exactly 40 minutes for answering questions in each section and y will not be allowed to switch from one section to anor while answering questions in a section. A mock exam to understand format of test will be available on CAT website.

What is CAT?

CAT is a national-level MBA/PGDM entrance test held for mission of students to 20 IIMs across country. Notably, scores secured by candidates in CAT scores are accepted by over 1000 B-schools. It is believed to be one of toughest examinations every year. Around 2,00,000 candidates apply for CAT exam to get mission to more than 5000 MBA/PGDM seats. mission to IIMs is based on CAT score and percentile.
