National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the subject-wise schedule for UGC NET December 2023. Candidates who have applied for the University Grants Commission- National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) for the December 2023 cycle can check the exam schedule on the official website- nta.ac.in. The UGC NET 2023 will begin on December 6 and conclude on December 14.  

NTA will conduct the exams for 83 subjects in 7 days. Exams for multiple papers will be held in each day in two shifts. The first shift of the exam will be held from 9 am to 12 pm. The second shift of the exam will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm. The exam will be held in computer-based test mode. There will be multiple-choice questions in the exam. Candidates must check the official notification to check the exam pattern.

The UGC-NET exam city intimation slip will be released 10 days prior to the exam date. The UGC-NET admit card will be released 48 hours before the exam. Once released, candidates will be able to download the same from the official website- ugcnet.nta. ac.in. UGC NET December 2023 results are expected be declared on January 10, 2024 as per the schedule.

Download and take its printout.

Candidates must bring the printout of the UGC NET admit card on the exam day. They must also bring their two passport size photographs and a valid photo-ID proof like Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN card etc. 

About UGC-NET 

UGC-NET is conducted twice every year (June & December). In order to regularize the UGC-NET examination cycle, the National Testing Agency (NTA), with the concurrence of UGC is conducting UGC NET December 2023 in 83 subjects, at selected cities across the country.

UGC NET is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ as well as ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian Universities and Colleges.The UGC-NET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode w.e.f. December 2018 onwards.

Awarding of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/ or Eligibility for Assistant Professorship depends on the aggregate performance of the candidate in Paper-I and Paper-II of UGC-NET. The candidates qualifying only for Assistant Professorship are not eligible to be considered for the award of JRF. Candidates who qualify the eligibility test for Assistant Professorship are governed by the rules and regulations of the concerned Universities/Colleges/State Governments, as the case may be for recruitment of Assistant Professor.
