Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha on Friday hit out at Education Ministry over NEET/JEE exams row claiming that education system in country was in a 'disturbing and sorry state' in hands of 'unqualified people.' actor stated that re was a need to 'level playing field' for students in urban and rural areas ding, "heavens won't fall even if w, exams are postponed." Appealing with PM Modi's popular catchphrase - 'Jaan hai toh Jahaan hai,' that he used during pandemic, Shatrughan Sinha said that issue needed to be dressed soon keeping in mind future of students.

Education Minister speaks on JEE & NEET

Union Education Minister on Wednesday stated that exam dates h been finalised after two deferments keeping in mind order of Supreme Court and current situation of pandemic. Education Minister revealed that about 85% of students appearing for exams h alrey downloed ir mit cards and were rey to sit for ir tests after much preparation.

While Centre is facing criticism from Opposition for conducting JEE Mains and NEET in view of rising COVID-19 cases, over 100 acemicians from various universities in India and abro have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that delaying medical and engineering entrance exams any furr will mean compromising future of students.

Congress and various or opposition parties have demanded that examinations be deferred due to pandemic and floods in certain parts of country, even as government has me it clear that tests will be held according to schedule and with due precautions. Supreme Court has also dismissed a plea seeking postponement of two exams amid a spurt in number of COVID-19 cases in country, saying a "precious" acemic year of students "cant be wasted" and that life has to go on.

While JEE Main examination will be held between September 1 to 6, NEET examination is scheduled for September 13. NTA assured all students of a safe environment in wake of COVID-19 crisis.
