A Hyderabad School is receiving flak after it put up a board announcing the ‘toppers’ of its Nursery, Kinder Garden and Lower Kinder Garden classes. The list features photos of kids who topped their class. Netizens have now accused the school of allegedly ‘promoting’ and pushing the toddlers into the "Rat Race" and pressurising them.

A Twitter user uploaded a picture of the hoarding that was put up by Priya Bharti School. The tweet has enraged netizens. According to popular opinions on social media, the school was criticised for allegedly pitting the children against each other in a fit to compete as such a tender age. India also has one of the world’s highest suicide rates for youth aged 15 to 29, according to a 2012 Lancet report. However, the pressure is not only on the students of higher classes, but it is also becoming slowly more apparent that the same effects are visible among Primary schools as well.
