IMPORTANT: ICSE Class 10 & 12 board exams postponed till further notice amid Coronavirus

The ICSE board on Thursday postponed class 10 and 12 examinations till further notice due to the novel coronavirus threat, officials said.

ICSE board on Thursday postponed class 10 and 12 examinations due to vel coronavirus threat, officials said. Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) Chief Executive Gerry Arathoon said exams have been postponed till furr tice. revised dates to be anunced later by board.

On Wednesday, he h said exams will be conducted as per schedule. anuncement came hours after Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) on Wednesday directed Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and all educational institutions in country to postpone all exams including JEE Mains till March 31 in view of Coronavirus outbreak.

CBSE board exams to be rescheduled

All CBSE board exams of Class 10 and 12 have been suspended and will be rescheduled after reviewing public health situation, Board stated in a press release on Wednesday. decision came a day after India reported its third death due to Coronavirus amid a sharp increase in number of positive cases in country.

"While maintenance of acemic calendar and exam schedule is important, equally important is safety and security of students, who are appearing in various examinations as also of ir teachers and parents," HRD Secretary Amit Khare stated.

Health Ministry orders temporary closure of schools, colleges

In view of rising vel Coronavirus cases in India, Health Ministry ordered a temporary closure of all educational establishments (schools, universities, etc), gyms, museums, cultural and social centres, swimming pools and atres till March 31. Ministry has vised students to stay home and also urged promotion of online education.

Following Ministry's order, Tripura government on Monday shut down schools, colleges, universities, cinemas, swimming pools, gymnasiums with immediate effect till March 31. However, board exams will be held as per schedule. Ministry of Health has vised citizens to avoid n-essential travel and also to maximize social distance in public transport besides ensuring regular and proper disinfection of surfaces.
