JEE Mains 2020 Exam Updates: HRD Ministry yet to announce decision on the pending exam

With students & parents demanding the HRD ministry to cancel the CBSE board exams, students appearing for JEE 2020 were also seen asking for delaying the exam.

Amid rise of COVID-19 cases in country, HRD ministry is planning to postpone JEE mains examination yet again. JEE mains exam was postponed from April 2020 and was rescheduled for July 2020. But according to sources in HRD ministry, officials are contemplating postponing exams even furr.

What is Supreme Court’s stand?

Supreme Court of India will be hearing matter on June 23, 2020. This has happened due to petitions filed by some students and ir parents. petition is requesting HRD ministry to quash remaining paper for Class 12 students.

HRD Minister on JEE 

Sources in HRD ministry have stated to a news portal that, students safety is ir paramount concern. y added that current situation in country doesn’t seem conducive to conduct JEE, NEET or any or CBSE board examination. Sources also added that HRD ministry has claimed that an alternate grading system for Class 10 and Class 12, board examinations are being worked out. This grading system will help students to gain good marks, safely and will let m move forward in ir education process. However, details of this new grading system remain inconclusive so far.

HRD Ministry revealed to a news portal that postponing JEE examination is a better solution as cancelling m won’t be feasible. Hence, whatever decision is going to be, it will be uniform for entire country. Furrmore, ministry is discussing important matters with  officials of NTA, CBSE, UGC, AICTE.

However, Supreme Court has asked  ministry to come with a decision by June 23rd. Currently, ministry is making a decision with regards to  pending papers of CBSE 10th & 12th board exams. However, students are awaiting some updates on IIT-JEE and NEET exams as well since both exams are slated for July 2020 as well.

JEE mains latest updates

  • JEE mains examination to be conducted in April 2020, postponed due to COVID-19 induced lockdown. Class 10 and 12 papers remain pending as well.
  • Revised JEE main exam dates are anunced on June 1, 2020. JEE mains to be conducted from July 18, 2020, to July 23, 2020. Admit cards to be made available on July 4, 2020.
  • Given threat of pandemic is still looming. On June 22, 2020, HRD ministry begins to reanalyse its decision and speculates to postpone exams furr in October 2020. 
  • current status is, that, conclusive decision has been made yet by HRD ministry on fate of JEE mains students.
