New Delhi: Amazon India has signed an MoU with India's Ministry of Labour and Employment (Ministry) to utilize National Career Service (NCS) portal of Ministry for facilitating posting of available work opportunities at Amazon and its staffing agencies. This will enable job seekers across India to view such working opportunities and also help Amazon India and its staffing agencies to post job openings and source candidates from NCS portal. This will also enable jobseekers, who have registered on NCS portal, to smoothly search and apply for relevant opportunities available at Amazon. Amazon is first e-commerce company to collaborate with Ministry of Labour and Employment for NCS portal. This partnership aims to connect aspiring individuals with career prospects that match ir skills and qualifications. 

How It Will Benefit Job Seekers

job seekers registered on NCS portal will be able to explore and apply for a wide variety of job roles across Amazon ’s corporate offices and operations network that align with ir skills and aspirations. Access to NCS's extensive database will enable Amazon and its staffing agencies to source candidate profiles more effectively and hire m for roles across country. company and its staffing agencies can hire a range of employee and associate cohorts, including women and persons with disabilities. This collaboration is a significant step towards dressing hiring challenges faced by both job seekers and job providers in India.

In FY 2024,  total number of registered job seekers on NCS portal stood at over 87 lakh. By bridging gap between supply and demand, NCS has potential to connect job providers and job seekers across levels and roles, particularly in fast-growing e-commerce sector, and contribute to overall economic development of country.

Over 13 Lakh Jobs Created by Amazon in India

Since its inception in India, Amazon has created over 13 lakh direct and indirect jobs. company directly employs over 1.2 lakh people across various roles, se include operations roles like fulfilment centres, distribution centres, and customer service, as well as corporate roles such as software development, human resources, program management, machine learning data services, and seller support. Every year, Amazon creates tens of thousands of seasonal work opportunities during festive season. Recently, it announced over 110,000 seasonal work opportunities across its operations network to serve millions of customers during upcoming festive period. se opportunities span direct and indirect jobs across cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderab, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Chennai.
