NEET Exam Updates: NTA to strongly consider revision of NEET-JEE 2021 dates

National Testing ncy, which is responsible for conducting JEE Main and NEET examinations, is overlooking January 2021 editions of entrance tests. This will be done once COVID-19 situation subsides and also post reopening of schools and colleges.

NEET date for 2020 edition might affect next NEET 2021 edition as well
daily and constant rise in COVID-19 positive cases had forced shutdown of schools, colleges, education institutions, and or academic activities. entrance examinations will w follow revised dates, that is September 13 for NEET and September 1 to 6 for JEE Main and advanced on September 27. move comes as a safety precaution to prevent thousands of students who will be appearing for exams from possibility of contracting virus. While anuncing new dates for NEET, JEE Main and Advanced, Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said in a statement that safety of people is top priority of government, followed by quality education.

Due to proximity of current edition of exams and next edition, council is re-thinking dates for JEE Main, Advances and NEET 2021 dates. NTA is considering reopening of institutions for decision to be finalised. JEE Main was converted to be a biannual practice by Joint Implementation Committee in 2019, but April 2020 tests are still t conducted. NTA is thus strongly considering renewal of dates for 2021 exams as well.

re are several angles to be considered by NTA to declare dates. First and foremost is re-opening of schools, examination dates for 2021 calendar and lastly coronavirus situation, if it still prevails during time. NTA is foreseeing situations on priority to avoid any disruption to next academic calendar, as per reports. revision is a need of hour as time for preparation is less and syllabus is vast for some students. Holding NEET 2021 and JEE Mains and Advanced exams too close to 2020 editions might also affect performance of students, as per NTA.
