NEET results 2021: More female students qualify than male in national medical entrance exam

Three candidates have shared top rank in medical entrance exam NEET-UG, results of which were announced on Monday, according to National Testing Agency. Telangana's Mrinal Kutteri, Delhi's Tanmay Gupta and Maharashtra's Karthika G Nair shared top rank, scoring 720 out of 720. Eight transgender candidates have also cleared examination. A tie-breaking formula will be used at counselling stage for joint rank holders, an NTA official said.
fifth rank has also been shared by 12 candidates while 21 candidates have shared 19th rank.

Ministry of Education’s testing agency has not used tie-breaking formula this year for announcement of ranks. Over 15.44 lakh candidates h appeared for exam which was conducted at 3,858 centres in 13 languages. Over 8.70 lakh candidates have qualified exam.
NEET-UG exam was held on September 12 with over 95 per cent of registered candidates appearing for medical entrance exam.

According to NTA officials, continuing trend of previous years more female students have qualified exam than male students. Eight of 14 transgender candidates who h appeared for exam have also qualified.

Fifteen candidates were identified using unfair means during exam and ir results have been cancelled, official ded.
A record 16.14 lakh candidates h registered for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) this year.

Similarly, qualifying marks range for general/ EWS PwD candidates is 137-122 as against 146-129 in 2020. This year’s qualifying marks ranges for OBC PwD SC PwD and ST PwD candidates is 121-108.
“ Directorate UR of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India will conduct counselling for 15 pc All India Quota Seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, Seats of ESIC and AFMC, BHU & AMU. Candidates may visit website www.mcc.nic.in for furr information. Candidates will apply for 15 pc All India Quota seats as per directions of DGHS and Counselling will be stopped once seats are exhausted," official ded.
Supreme Court Thursday permitted National Testing Agency to declare National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) results for mission to undergruate medical courses across country, saying that it cannot hold results of over 16 lakh students.
