Punjab to conduct a survey to assess quality of education imparted in govt schools
This survey would test the quality of education in the government as well as government-aided schools of Punjab during the academic session of 2020-21.

On Punjab Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla's insistence, government officials have decided to conduct a survey of achievement of government and government-aided schools across state to evaluate quality of education in Punjab. aim of this survey is to assess quality of education imparted to students in government and government-aided schools in Punjab.

Government schools to be evaluated
On Tuesday, a spokesperson of school education department this survey will help m understand situation of schools in current acemic year 2020-21.
" survey will begin with a quiz in August and re will be ar quiz about a fortnight later. children will have ir first mock test in September. second mock test will be held in October and third test in vember. re will be separate syllabus for this survey and it will be based on syllabus of subject alrey being studied. survey is being conducted class wise. re will be all subjects for primary classes and four subjects for Class 6 to 10 (English, Mamatics, Science and Social Studies). survey will be based on some elective subjects for Classes 11 and 12," said spokesperson.

district and block mentors of all districts of Punjab will also train teachers for survey. teachers are tasked with informing students about survey and encour m to be a part of survey.
"Sample materials for quiz preparation will be provided online by department. In dition, children and parents will be me more aware of this survey through various means. main objective of this survey is to prepare teachers and students for National Achievement Survey to be conducted by central government," spokesperson ded.

Punjab approves Rs 10.92 crore for govt schools
In July, Punjab Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla anunced that state government has approved Rs 10.92 crores to construct more rooms in government schools. This amount will be used to construct 364 rooms in about 304 government schools across state. Rs 3 lakhs will be used for construction of each room.
