The Twitterati has been staging a peaceful mini protest over the internet, requesting the declaration of the pending results of Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level Examination or SSC CGL of 2017. While the results for 2017 SSC CGL are pending, the netizens have been tagging the Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office, Jitendra Singh and the Prime Minister himself, to look into the issue. This examination is conducted to recruit staff at various positions in the ministries, departments, and organisations of the Government of India. Established in 1975, the staff for Group B and Group C posts are selected through this examination.

Staff Selection Committee’s clarification

The hashtag #GiveCGL17Result also trended back in August when the Staff Selection Commission or SSC issued a clarification that the CGL 2017 result was delayed because it became sub-judice immediately after completing the Tier II exam in February 2018. They, however, assured the students that the process of evaluation was under-way and the results will be tentatively released by November 2019. The frustrated candidates, took to Twitter, soon after the SSC gave their clarification. The hashtag has resurfaced in a new form again as #RequestCGL17Result. With nearly 34,000 impressions, the hashtag was trending on Twitter on Sunday evening.
