Tamil Nadu witnesses a case of impersonation by a medical aspirant

Tamil Nadu witnessed impersonation by the medical aspirant K V Udit Surya who fooled the authorities getting himself admitted in the Theni Medical College.

state of Tamil Nu is shaken after case of impersonation by a medical aspirant surfaced. K V Udit Surya, a medical aspirant fooled authorities when he got himself mitted in Government ni Medical College without appearing for  National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). He h ar individual pose as him for NEET as well as counselling session. A native of Chennai, Surya w has a case registered against him under sections 120 (B), 419 and 420 of IPC after a complaint was filed by medical college Dean Dr.A.K.Rajendran.

K V Udit Surya in a gimmick, h allegedly asked ar individual to appear for exam and counselling. However, Surya joined college, later on, to attend classes. Doubts were raised against him when his picture did t match with one on his identity card which challenged his position in college. After his impersonation came to light, Surya stopped attending college, citing 'depression' in a letter to state his reason for discontinuation. His house in rth Chennai has been locked with traces of Surya. This probed Tamil Nu Police to form special teams to find Surya and person who impersonated him. This incident prompted ni Medical College to furr check all photographs of students to make sure that y matched. Medical College ensured that this procedure would take a day to complete.

Aftermath 

In wake of case of impersonation,  Selection Committee of Directorate of Medical Education (DME) asked all medical colleges to verify records of first-year MBBS students. In lieu of case of impersonation, certain necessary alterations are to be me. Measures such as fingerprints of students being mandatory so that such incidents do t occur in future have been suggested. With amalgamation of photographs, fingerprints and signatures, such incidents are to be avoided in future.
