New Delhi: Chartered Accountancy exam is considered one of the toughest exams in India. This year, only 18.42% of candidates passed the CA intermediate exams and 19.88% of candidates have passed the CA final exam. The exam demands utmost dedication, persistence and patience as many students fail to crack the exam even after several attempts. However, Kushagra Roy of Bhiwadi has cracked the CA intermediate exam in the first attempt and through studying online. The success story of Kushagra is a tale of dedication, focus and unwavering support of his father, after his mother's demise. 

Success Mantra of CA Inter Topper Kushagra Roy

Kushagra Roy bagged AIR-1 in CA inter exams 2024. He scored 538 marks i.e, 89.67%. The results were declared on July 11. In an exclusive interview with Republic World, Kushagra Roy revealed his disciplined study regimen and strategies that led to his top rank in the highly competitive exam.

Study Timings and Strategies
Kushagra emphasized the importance of consistency in his preparation. "I studied 12-13 hours each day," he shared. "By setting a daily study schedule and adhering to it without fail, I ensured continuous progress in mastering complex subjects." He credited online classes from PW’s CA Wallah and rigorous self-study for his deep understanding and retention of the material. "Writing down everything the teachers discussed and highlighting important points during self-study were crucial techniques. Staying focused was key, so I uninstalled Instagram and Facebook, keeping only WhatsApp for communication."

Motivation to Pursue a Career as a CA
From Class 11th, Kushagra was certain about pursuing Commerce, influenced by his father, an accountant. "My father's dream for me to become a Chartered Accountant was my biggest motivation. His faith in me and my aim to fulfill his dream kept me going," he said.

Family and Educational Background
Kushagra's family played a pivotal role in his success. After his mother's passing in 2015, his father stepped in as both parents for him and his elder brother. "My elder brother is fulfilling my mother's dream of becoming a doctor, and I am fulfilling my father's dream of becoming a CA," he said. His father's background as a CA-aspirant and unwavering support were instrumental. Kushagra's path to CA began after a commendable score in his 10th board examination, leading him to choose Commerce and start his CA preparation.

Challenges Faced During Preparation
Despite his father's efforts to ensure a smooth journey, Kushagra faced challenges, particularly with the subject of Audit. "Memorizing the theoretical subject of Audit was the biggest task," he admitted. "However, Physics Wallah’s CA Wallah online classes helped me understand the tougher concepts clearly."

Future Plans
Kushagra's immediate goal is to clear the CA Final, aiming to secure a position in a prestigious multinational company. "The next steps include starting my articleship and undergoing computer training," he said. He aspires to join one of the Big 4 accounting firms, confident that his achievements will open doors to top opportunities.
