UPPSC Prelims To Be Conducted On December 22 In Two Shifts

Lucknow: Uttar Presh government has agreed to demands of protesting aspirants and will now hold Uttar Presh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) prelims examination on a single day, December 22. examination will take place in two shifts: first from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and second from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

Reportedly, UP Chief Minister Yogi ityanath directed commission to dress grievances of protesting students, leing to decision to revise examination schedule.

Initially, exam was planned for December 7 and 8, following its postponement from original date of October 27. decision has been praised as a step to alleviate students' travel concerns.

"In view of nature of Combined State/Senior Subordinate Service Examination, Commission has decided in principle to conduct it on a single day, as was done earlier," stated UPPSC in an official statement.

Hundreds of aspirants h staged protests outside UPPSC office in Prayagraj, demanding a change to exam format. y argued that previous format, which extended across multiple days and shifts, was unfair and susceptible to discrepancies.

Following protests, opposition parties supported aspirants' demands, criticising UP government's initial response as “insensitive.”

Over 10 lakh candidates are expected to appear for Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (Pre.) Examination. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak assured students of government's commitment to ir welfare.

" problem has been resolved. state government is prioritising students' interests. ir demands have been met, and we will ensure y face no furr issues," Pathak stated. BJP MP Dinesh Sharma echoed se sentiments, lauding Chief Minister's decision.

"This is a significant step in students' interest. opposition is merely politicising issue. A committee has been formed by Commission for RO/ARO (Pre.) Examination-2023 to evaluate all aspects and submit a detailed report soon," Sharma said.
