After Sri Lankan PM Ranil Wickremesinghe posted a tweet congratulating PM Modi on the victory, Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu too tweeted wishing him. He also praised the Prime Minister for his leadership.

Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe on Thursday had also taken to Twitter to wish PM Modi on his success. He also said that his country was looking forward to working closely with the yet to form Modi government.
The counting of votes began at 8 am on May 23 in each of the 542 constituencies (the Vellore Lok Sabha polls had been countermanded).

With high-pitched and intense election campaigning, the 2019 polls spanned seven phases across two months, ended on May 19, witnessing the Election Commission handling 22.3 lakh ballot units, 17.3 lakh VVPATs and 16.3 lakh control units.
