2019 Lok Sabha Elections Begin: India Goes To Polls For Phase 2 Of General Elections - Voting To Be Held For 95 Seats

With 95 seats, 1619 candidates and 179880 polling booths at disposition, 12 states will go to polls on Thursday for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019

Engulfed with controversies ranging from politics of polarisation to coalition tears, price tags on votes and even dopplegangers, the Lok Sabha elections on April 18 will walk into its second phase of voting. 

With 95 seats, 1619 candidates and 179880 polling booths at disposition the states that will go to polls on Thursday are- 

Assam (5 seats), Bihar (5 seats), Chhattisgarh (3 seats), Jammu and Kashmir (2 seats), Karnataka (14 seats), Maharashtra (10 seats), Manipur (1 seat), Odisha (5 seats), Tamil Nadu (38 seats), Uttar Pradesh (8 seats), West Bengal(3 seats) and Puducherry (1 seat).

The list does not account for Tamil Nadu's Vellore and Tripura East constituency. 

Here are the constituencies that will go to polls:

The turnout for the first phase of elections as announced by the Election Commission was: 

  • Andaman and Nicobar: 70.67%
  • Chhattisgarh: 56%
  • Andhra Pradesh: 56% 
  • Telangana: 60%
  • Maharashtra: 55.78%
  • Sikkim: 69%
  • Mizoram: 60%
  • Nagaland: 78%
  • Manipur: 78.2%
  • Tripura: 81.8%
  • West Bengal: 81%
