Amid delay in alliance, Congress complaints to Delhi CEO against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal accusing him of violation of code of conduct

Delhi Congress on Saturday filed a complained with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) against Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of misusing his office by sending letters to voters and violating the poll code.

Delhi Congress on Saturday filed a complained with Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) against Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of misusing his office by sending letters to voters and violating poll code.

A delegation of Legal Department of Delhi Congress led by its chairman Sunil Kumar submitted its complaint with CEO (Delhi) seeking action against AAP convener.

"Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has grossly violated code of conduct by misusing his official position by sending letters to lakhs of voters in Delhi," delegation complained.

However,  response of Aam Ami Party (AAP) over allegation was t immediately available.

" Kejriwal government is using taxpayers' money in election campaign of AAP for upcoming Lok Sabha elections. It is attempting to influence voters with plea that Congress can t defeat BJP so y should cast ir votes for AAP candidates in Delhi," y alleged.

"Arvind Kejriwal has misused taxpayers' money to misle people for benefit of AAP to seek support for party candidates through letters for upcoming Lok  Sabha elections," y charged.

model code of conduct is in place for Lok Sabha polls. In Delhi, votes will be cast on May 12.  complaint also claimed that prior permission of Election Commission was t sought for such printed letters of Chief Minister.

Details such as name of printer and number of copies of letter printed were also t specified by AAP, it claimed.

Section 127A of Representation of People Act stipulates that " person shall print or publish, or cause to be printed or published, any election pamphlet or poster which does t bear on its face names and dresses of Printer and Publisher reof", it said.

delegation sought urgent intervention in matter by initiating stern action against Kejriwal and AAP for "violation" of model code of conduct.
