Blaming the Prime Minister for getting votes in the name of backward castes, BSP Supremo Mayawati, on Saturday, has made allegations against PM Modi saying that he has included his community in the OBC category for political gains while addressing a press conference at BSP state office in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Retorting to PM Modi's claims that she and Akhilesh had called hin 'Neech', she rubbished his claims adding that they (Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav) had always considered him to belong to the upper caste.

Earlier on the same day, PM Modi during a rally in Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh made a statement about the ability or lack thereof of the coalition Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav to deal with terrorism and infiltration. He questioned the duo's capability of handling the issues saying that their individual governments in Uttar Pradesh could never even do anything about the gundas in the state.

"The condition of Pakistan is such that it is shedding tears in front of the world. You tell me, shouldn't terrorism and naxalism be over? Shouldn't we be freed by the infiltrators? Can the work be done by our bua-babua? Don't respond to make me or the media happy? Their own government could not do anything about the gundas of the state," he said.

The Prime Minister had also addressed a rally in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday where he finally countered Rahul Gandhi's 2017 statement ahead of the Gujarat assembly elections saying that he would install a machine that would convert potatoes to gold.

"Friends, we don't make such promises that'll make the citizens uneasy," the Prime Minister said, adding, "Otherwise there are such brilliant people in the country who make gold from potatoes. That work I can't do, please forgive me."

The counting of votes will be conducted on 23 May, and on the same day, the results will be declared.
