Congress fields Vijender Singh for south Delhi constituency ahead of Lok Sabha elections
On the heels of Gautam Gambhir's candidacy as the BJP's choice for the East Delhi Constituency in the Lok Sabha polls, All India Congress Committee (AICC) has issued a press release on Monday, announcing Indian Boxer Vijender Singh as its South Delhi Candidate, in the upcoming polls.

Earlier on same day, BJP h released its 24th list for Parliamentary elections naming two candidates from NCT of Delhi.

In a compelling triangular contest between three candidates, East Delhi will have entrant cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir, Congress' Arvinder Singh Lovely and AAP candidate Atishi Marlena.
Earlier, BJP released its 23rd candidate list for 2019 Lok Sabha elections on Sunday where it anunced seven members whom it is fielding from constituencies across Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Presh and Mhya Presh.

Among those in list include Union Ministers Dr Harsh Vardhan who has been given ticket to fight from Chandni Chowk, and Hardeep Singh Puri will contest from Amritsar, and actor-turned-politician Maj Tiwari who will be fighting polls from rth East Delhi.
Meanwhile, former chief minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit will lock horns with BJP's Maj Tiwari to fight out rth East Delhi seat.
Delhi will go to polls on May 12 and results will be anunced on May 23
