Congress list for Delhi polls to be released soon, CEC to meet at Gandhi's residence
After BJP released the first list of their candidates on Friday, the Delhi Congress chief affirmed that his party has finalised most of names for the elections.

After BJP released first list of ir candidates on Friday, Delhi Congress chief Subhash Chopra affirmed that his party has finalised most of names of for upcoming Delhi assembly polls. Chopra also ded that he will be will meeting Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) on Saturday. This comes as a decision on five to ten seats is yet to be taken.

Talking about Congress’ list of candidates for Delhi assembly polls, Subhash Chopra said, “Majority of names of candidates have been cleared. CEC meeting will be held tomorrow at 10 am. decision on five to ten seats is yet to be taken as we have to just certain people from different areas”. CEC meeting will be held at residence of interim President of Congress party, Sonia Gandhi.

Congress’ decision on important party seats
Congress party has t yet decided a candidate who will be contesting on New Delhi seat during elections. This is seat from where current CM Arvind Kejriwal is going to contest elections. According to party sources, senior party leers in Delhi have been asked to contest elections.
Arvinder Lovely is all set to contest from Gandhi Nagar seat. However, Ajay Maken has left to United States as his daughter is unwell. party is also likely to give tickets to young faces.

BJP’s first list
dressing media on Friday, Delhi BJP chief Maj Tiwari anunced first list of 57 candidates for upcoming Delhi Assembly election. AAP rebel Kapil Mishra has been given ticket to contest from Model Town constituency. On or hand, party spokesperson Sardar RP Singh will contest polls from Rajendra Nagar seat. Rohini MLA and senior BJP leer Vijendra Gupta has been re-minated by party.

Tiwari stated that first list comprised of 11 SC and 4 female candidates. party's Central Election Committee met on Thursday to finalise candidates. Contrary to speculation, ne of sitting parliamentarians featured in BJP’s first list. BJP’s Ravi Negi will take on Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

Moreover, Kumar Vishwas who has been perceived to have a political understanding with BJP also hasn’t found a place in list. Furrmore, BJP hasn’t put up a candidate in eir Krishna Nagar or New Delhi from where Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is fighting election. This development leaves possibility of senior BJP leers such as Harsh Vardhan and Maj Tiwari joining poll fray open.
