Delhi Congress leaders will meet Rahul Gandhi at 10 am to discuss about having an alliance with the AAP for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, say sources. The sources added that a decision on the matter is likely to be taken in the meeting.

As per sources, P C Chacko will be present in the meeting. Chacko has been in favour of an alliance with the party led by Arvind Kejriwal. Delhi Congress chief Sheila Dikshit and her camp, who have been opposing the alliance will also be present in the meeting.

Sources have also said that the Congress will fight from five out of the seven seats and the AAP will contest from two seats if they agree to form a coalition.

Sources say that Rahul Gandhi may convince Dikshit to agree to have an alliance with AAP with accordance in the seat-sharing terms.
While the talks have been going on and there have also been speculations of a secret deal between the parties for the polls. The AAP has in public maintained an Opposition to Congress following the party's rejection of a coalition with them a few weeks ago. However, AAP had continued to be in talks with Congress, the sources added.

Senior Congress leader P C Chacko on March 19, batted for an alliance with the AAP in Delhi for the forthcoming general elections. Chacko's statement came after Sheila Dikshit penned a down a letter to party president Rahul Gandhi stating coalition with AAP will 'harm' the Congress in the long run.

Speaking to ANI in New Delhi on Tuesday, March 19, Chacko said, "As far as I know there are senior leaders in Delhi who think that defeating BJP is party's immediate responsibility; for it we should form an alliance with AAP, that's the thinking of the majority of leaders."
