Gautam Gambhir eats humble pie; congratulates Kejriwal & adds 'don't make Delhi helpless'

 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is leading in Delhi’s state election results, racing ahead of BJP to return to power in national capital. Speaking about party's near certain defeat, BJP MP from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir who is one of Kejriwal's fiercest critics on Tuesday said that party accepts people's mandate, going on to congratulate  AAP chief and people of Delhi.

'I hope re will be development in Delhi'

Speaking to news ncy ANI, Gambhir said, 'We accept results and we should accept it. I congratulate Arvind Kejriwal and I congratulate people of Delhi. All I can say is we put in our maximum efforts in every way and maybe we could t convince people. Aam Aadmi Party will form government again and Kejriwal will become CM, I hope re will be development in Delhi."

When questioned about where BJP went wrong in elections, Gambhir said, "When party will sit and discuss se things, n only we will come to kw. Speaking in front of media about where we made mistakes will t be correct w. only thing I can say that is we could t convince people in a manner we should have or maybe y were t convinced. We tried our best, it's t like we did t do anything." He added that  BJP has to work a lot and he did t want to talk about or parties.

'Make Delhi capable and t helpless'

"Five years is a long time, we will try to connect with people on ground to convince m. Today is t time I speak about negative things about party. Before elections, y made metro rides free, electricity, water and or things free by which people got convinced and I hope that he continues with se things and it was t just done for elections. BJP wants to make Delhi capable and t helpless and I hope Kejriwal agrees with this and does t make Delhi helpless," Gambhir said.

As per latest Election Commission trends, Kejriwal has a comfortable lead in New Delhi seat by over 4000 votes whereas his deputy Manish Sisodia is facing a tough fight in Patparganj.  Congress has failed to open an account yet again with all its heavyweights, including Alka Lamba and Arvinder Singh Lovely trailing.
