Patna conjoined twins now hold individual voting rights, will be allowed to cast vote by turns

During 2015 assembly polls in Bihar, Sabah and Farah, n 19, cast ir votes on a single voter identity card. In 2019 Lok Sabha election, twin sisters-- joined at he since birth-- have earned right to be treated as separate individuals with independent voting rights.
Sabah and Farah, w 23 years old, will cast ir votes on Sunday as per ir respective choices; unlike 2015 Bihar assembly polls when ir names were inscribed on a single voter ID card and ir vote was, consequently, treated as one.

" twins cant be denied ir individuality on account of way y are physically. y have different minds, different opinions and choices. refore, this time y have been issued separate voter ID cards and y will be allowed to cast ir votes by turns," District Magistrate-Patna, Kumar Ravi told news ncy Press Trust of India on Saturday.

He said reason why y h been treated as a single voter could have been that it has to be secret ballot and or individual is supposed to be present when one is casting his or her vote.
However, twins are conjoined in such a way that ir hes are turned, always, in opposite directions.
